Yes, I own one of those evil assault rifles. Never mind that it is not an assault rifle nor evil. Just the anti-gunners seem to think so. I bought this one, a Colt Lower receiver with a Bushmaster M4 Upper. Since the Colt was bought before the '94 weapons ban I can have all the truly evil stuff like the pistol grip, sliding stock, detatchable magazine, bayonet lug and a flash suppressor/muzzle brake. It also has a Aimpoint Comp M red dot sight on top.

This one is my 2000 Christmas present to myself. In army green frame with Tennifer black slide. Holds 10 rounds of .40 S&W in the magazine and one more in the barrel. I added tritium night sights for low light versatility. This gun is extremely accurate and with the adjustable backstraps a pleasure to shoot. It's the first gun I've ever owned that fits my small hands. I ran several hundred rounds of various ammo through without any malfunctions. My best results were with Remington EPFMJ. The Corbons hurt and the Proloads barely functioned. Fiochi ammo works very well also. There has been a price reduction and the current street price for the P99 hovers in the sub U$500 area putting it in line with Glock.

"Did you really think that we want those laws to be observed?" said Dr. Ferris.
"We *want* them broken. We're after power and we mean it. ...There's no way
to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack
down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals, one makes them.
One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men
to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What's
there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be
observed nor enforced nor objectively interpreted and you create a nation of
law-breakers and then you cash in on guilt."
